LAT41 Sunday morning - Hendrik Christian Andersen Museum
A visit to the home and workshop of Norwegian sculptor Hendrik Christian Andersen is offered. Andersen lived in Rome between the end of the nineteenth and the 40s of the twentieth century. He was an eclectic and productive homosexual sculptor, he has left an intact atelier full of mastodontic and nerborut statues, naked men and women of great proportions and projects that amaze scholars and visitors. The visit will be enriched by insights on the international community of Rome between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries and the readings of the many letters between the sculptor and American writer Henry James, who had been fallen in love with him. Don’t miss it!
